Open Exec meeting: ANSA vision

The Australian Network of Student Anthropologists (ANSA) was established in 2005 as an initiative to encourage interaction between anthropology students and early career researchers (primarily postgraduate students). In order to do this effectively, we would like to hear from you directly. As this year's new executive committee, we are thrilled to host our first Open Exec meeting. These open meetings will be held every month wherein we will discuss upcoming events, ideas from our student community, ANSA’s role and future plans, and other relevant matters in the discipline of anthropology. This is a great opportunity for everyone to share their thoughts, ideas, suggestions and concerns - we believe in the voices of our student community.

ANSA is a transparent and inclusive organisation and we value engagement with our membership throughout the year. If you can come to this meeting, please do - we would love to see you. If, in case, you can't make it and want to raise an agenda topic, you can ask your local Uni Representative (or volunteer to be one if your institution doesn't have one) and have them represent you in the Exec meeting. We're also available via the contact form on our website, or via DM.

Please join us on the 7th to further discuss on the below agenda points:

  • ANSA vision document

  • ANSA constitution

  • building a thriving and vibrant ANSA community

  • developmental, professional and networking opportunities for our members

  • confirmation on student university representatives

  • social engagements like coffee catchups

  • have more members sign up using the ‘join ANSA’ form on the website

  • think critically about a long-term plan to grow the ANSA community across executives
