The AAS Conference abstract deadline if fast approaching. The call for papers has opened in June, check out the website for the latest information on the programme and details.

Most of us have written abstracts before. But writing an abstract is hard. How do you cut down your massive chapter, paper, or article to fit into 300 words? What is the essence of your message? How can you fit your work into the conference theme effectively without taking on an entirely new research project? And the most important question of all, especially if you’re just starting out: how do I know what I can present on in a few months time?!

Prof Chris Houston of Macquarie University is on this years’ AAS conference organising committee. He will join us for this workshop to briefly introduce the theme of this years’ conference, and to talk to the topic of writing a good abstract.

If you already have an abstract drafted, or some ideas for your conference presentation written down, we can help each other out by workshopping your abstracts in a small group setting. We’d love to see you there!
